Beautiful Ex-MOD Cheverton Workboat converted Houseboat
Welcome to the sale of my absolutely beautiful period Cheverton workboat named Seagem. She was commisioned by the MOD and built in 1970 from layered fibreglass with an English oak and steel superstructure. No expense was spared during her manufacture and only 2 were ever rumoured to be made, with Seagem 2 being twin engined. Sadly not much is known of Seagem 2's whereabouts or survival so Seagem is presumed the survivor, and the only single engined boat ever manufactured. 1961 Cheverton Caravel MkII 24ft
Wanda is a 1961 Cheverton Caravel Mk II, built of strip-planked African mahogany. Known as the 'English Folkboat', the Caravels were designed and built by David Cheverton at Cowes on the Isle of Wight. A classic 5 ton sloop, with a 1989 Vetus 10hp inboard diesel engine. She sails beautifully, and the long keel means she is stable and easy to handle.
