28ft wooden Smack Yacht, bought as an open boat from Portsmouth,1985.
REDUCED to £12,500
Testers Boatyard, Hollowshore, Kent, sold her on, as a "restoration project" to her present owner in 1986. Originally, she was a twin masted Lugger, built circa 1895.
It was decided that she would be re rigged to carry a Gaff Rig, A new rig was made, new spars and sails, and an engine was installed,
The Boatyard built her a deck and a simple coach roof over a cabin.
The restoration was completed, and she was back sailing in 2013.
Old surveys were made of her in 2014 and again 2018.
Afloat on a pontoon mooring, refitting and repainting underway.
She has been found to be a good sailing vessel and fast too.
She has won and been placed in local sailing matches.

Accommodation

Companionway ladder. a dining table which fixes to the ladder, when required.
2 opposing berths with vinyl covered berth cushions, with stowage shelving built in on both sides. 5ft 9ins standing headroom below. A further two bunks and a sea toilet, fitted in the forepeak 2004.
Hatches over the accommodation forward, a sliding main hatch and an engine hatch.

Construction

Single wooden hull. 1inch planks of mahogany have been over laid (double diagonal
using West epoxy system) this was done in 1998 by Chatham Dockyard.
Double layer 15mm ply Cacover sheathed and painted.
Oak through deck stanchions. Iroko capping rail an covering board. Oak deck beams
Painted Oak bitts.
3.5 tons Lead Ingots.
3 separate cabin area with full bulkheads.
Antifouled every 2 years.

Made in cream polyester sail cloth, Sail area of 600sqft.

Boom and gaff of solid Spruce made new 2003 ., all spars overhauled, stripped and re-varnished,
Shrouds 10mm galvanised wire to Dead eyes. ( standing rigging )
