'Watchful' is a Lochin 33 GDSV (General Duty Service Vessel) originally built as a sea fishery patrol vessel and currently used for survey operations but equally could suit as a passenger vessel under MCA Coding. She was fitted with new Caterpillar C7 engines and ZF85 gearboxes in 2017 with sufficient power to achieve a comfortable cruise speed of circa 16 knots. Tern is a Lochin 33, built in the Lochin yard in Newhaven in 1993 and finished externally and internally to the highest standard.
